The French Bulldog has had an interesting history of becoming A French Bulldog! This breed had its roots in England and was transported to France with Lace makers. These people were uprooted by the Industrial Revolution in England. The French Bulldog that was too small an English Bulldog was sent to France to be a companion dog. Some say they were bred with some type of terrier or Pugs to fix their eyes and ears. Finally. they were sent to the USA and fighting began on what was to be a French Bulldog. After one Westminster show ladies started their own French Bulldog Club and made their own standards. Then off to England where things were changed at The Kennel Club there to the American standards. (Not wise to push too hard on Womens Pets.) The French Bulldog sits at #01 of the AKC most registered list for 2023. How long will it stay #1?
